THE COMPLETE MEASUREMENT PATH
NDT7 · M-LabVPN, connection type and local conditions are checked before the test.
A generally geographic selection of an available NDT7 service, with no guaranteed server.
Test traffic goes straight from the application to the selected M-Lab server.
Result, time, context and server hostname stay linked in your history.

Your provider cannot edit your local database or exported report, and repeated series reduce the influence of a one-off anomaly. No serious tool should promise that a network can never recognize or prioritize measurement traffic: routing and network conditions still matter. FiberPulse therefore relies on transparency, context and repetition rather than an absolute claim.
FiberPulse measures the application-level performance available to your device. It does not access the internal systems of your Internet provider and does not claim to replace an official provider or regulator test.
Effective date: August 31, 2026Before an NDT7 test starts, FiberPulse asks for informed consent to use M-Lab. It checks the connection and refuses the test when a VPN route is detected, because a VPN can make the path and result misleading.
FiberPulse asks the M-Lab Locate API for an NDT7 service. Locate geolocates the request and generally directs it to a geographically close M-Lab site. Selection is not based on network latency or Internet routing, and M-Lab does not guarantee a specific server or country.
For example, a user in Brazil may be directed to an M-Lab site in São Paulo or Florianópolis, and a user in Singapore may be directed to a Singapore site. Availability and geolocation can still lead to another city or country. The exact server hostname is recorded with the measurement and in FiberPulse exports.
Download and upload test traffic travels directly between the FiberPulse application and the selected M-Lab server. FiberPulse does not relay the heavy test traffic through its own backend. M-Lab uses synthetic test traffic rather than the content of your browsing, messages or files.
Measurement history, settings, subscribed-plan details and generated reports remain on your device by default. M-Lab separately collects and publicly retains its test data, including the public client IP address, under its own policy. Sharing a reduced record with the FiberPulse observatory is a separate and optional choice.
A result can be affected by Wi-Fi, Ethernet, device performance, background traffic, router load, Internet routing, the selected server and temporary congestion. FiberPulse compares qualified measurements with the public characteristics of the plan you selected, but this comparison is not a contractual certification.
For a useful diagnosis, test at different times, pause heavy traffic and connect by Ethernet directly to the provider router where possible. Confirm any dispute through the provider’s official test and the procedure required by the relevant regulator.
A fully signed direct release is published only after the Windows and macOS builds for the same version both pass their signing and verification gates. The download cards on this website read the official release state, so the website and direct downloads point to that same version.
A provisional manual build is identified as such and does not receive automatic updates. Microsoft Store publication follows Microsoft’s separate certification timetable and therefore cannot be guaranteed to appear at exactly the same minute as a direct release.
