PRIVACY POLICY

Your connection evidence belongs to you.

This policy explains how the FiberPulse Windows and macOS application processes information when it measures and documents your Internet connection.

Effective date: September 1, 2026

1. Information processed by the application

FiberPulse processes connection measurements such as download speed, upload speed, latency, test time, network type and technical test conditions. If you provide them, the application can also store your subscribed plan, provider, equipment notes, account reference and contact information for inclusion in reports or complaint drafts.

2. Local-first storage

Your measurement history, settings, profile information and generated reports are stored locally on your device by default. FiberPulse does not require a FiberPulse account to run a connection test. Removing the application does not automatically erase retained local evidence unless you choose to delete it.

3. Optional account and private synchronization

You can use FiberPulse without an account. If you create one and link the application, FiberPulse processes your email address, a strongly hashed password when you choose email sign-in, or your verified email address and Google account identifier when you choose Google sign-in. FiberPulse also processes session records, subscription status and the measurements you choose to synchronize. Synced measurements provide your private history across devices and are not added to the public observatory without the separate observatory choice. The subscriber profile, contact details and generated reports remain local on each device.

No Pro payment is currently accepted. If Stripe billing is activated later, FiberPulse will receive customer, subscription and payment-status identifiers but will not receive or store your complete card number.

4. M-Lab connection tests

FiberPulse uses Measurement Lab's NDT7 infrastructure for independent performance measurements. Test traffic travels directly between your device and an M-Lab server. M-Lab collects and publishes measurement data, including the client IP address, under its own privacy policy and research-data practices. FiberPulse requests your informed consent before starting these tests.

5. Optional public observatory sharing

Sharing with the FiberPulse public observatory is separate and optional. When enabled, FiberPulse is designed to send only a coarse location, a rounded time bucket, performance results, latency, connection type and public subscription-plan information. It does not intentionally publish your name, email address, telephone number, customer account number, street address, exact GPS position, SSID, hostname, device profile or exact IP address.

6. Reports and complaint drafts

PDF and CSV reports, complaint drafts and support-call notes are generated for you. They remain local unless you deliberately save, copy, attach or send them. FiberPulse does not send a complaint or contact your provider automatically.

7. Network access and updates

The application needs Internet access to locate and contact measurement servers, check connectivity and retrieve verified software-update information. Microsoft Store installations receive updates through Microsoft Store. Direct-download editions use signed update metadata from the official FiberPulse release repository.

8. Retention and deletion

You control the local FiberPulse data stored on your device. You can remove local history and reports from the application or delete its local data. Account sessions expire and can be revoked; account deletion removes the account and synchronized records from the FiberPulse account service, subject to limited billing records that must be retained by law. Information already submitted to M-Lab is governed by M-Lab's retention practices. Public observatory records, when optional sharing is enabled, are retained as aggregated technical evidence and are not designed to identify a customer.

9. Children

FiberPulse is a general-purpose network utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly request a child's personal information.

10. Changes and support

This policy may be updated when FiberPulse features or data flows change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions or technical support, use the public FiberPulse support tracker.
